Current Status

Friendify currently uses strictly necessary cookies to provide secure account sessions, a functional last-sign-in-method cookie, local storage for theme preference, IndexedDB for character-assistant continuity, and, only if you have allowed them, optional Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies. Friendify offers optional Google Analytics measurement and optional Google Ads conversion measurement. Its analytics cookies and advertising cookies are set only after you allow each category through the cookie consent banner, the cookie preferences dialog (available from the Cookie settings link on every page), or the Analytics and Advertising permissions in Privacy settings; until then no Google tag loads and none of those cookies are set. Cross-site tracking pixels, fingerprinting, and social advertising tags are not currently used on the web app. If further non-essential analytics cookies or advertising cookies are introduced, Friendify must provide clear notice and obtain valid consent before setting them unless a current PECR exception applies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent login, protected dashboard access, billing portal redirects, privacy requests, and account security features from working.

Essential Cookies

The friendify_session cookie is required for secure sign-in. It is set by Friendify, marked HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Lax, uses Path=/, and is Secure in production. It is treated as strictly necessary because the app cannot provide protected account dashboards without it.

OAuth and email magic link flows may use short-lived state or token records to protect login redirects and prevent replay or tampering. These are used only for authentication and security.

The friendify_last_auth_method cookie remembers only the last successful sign-in method so the login page can label it for up to 365 days. It is HttpOnly and does not contain a session token, account email, or OAuth credential.

Browser Storage

Friendify uses local storage through the theme provider to remember your theme preference. This is not used for advertising, analytics, cross-site tracking, or account authentication.

The character editor also uses an IndexedDB database named friendify-character-assistant. It stores the selected assistant model and up to 40 recent character-assistant history messages per character draft so editor help can continue between page visits. This browser data is sent to Friendify only when you use the character assistant. Clear the assistant history in the editor or clear Friendify site data in your browser to remove it.

Third-Party Hosted Flows

Stripe, Google, Discord, and Yoti may set cookies or use similar technologies on their own domains when you use Stripe-hosted Checkout, the Stripe customer portal, Google OAuth, Discord OAuth, Discord integration flows, or Yoti age verification. Their cookies are controlled by those providers.

Analytics And Advertising

Friendify offers optional analytics measurement through Google Analytics 4 and optional advertising measurement through Google Ads. Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are set only after you allow analytics, and advertising cookies (_gcl_au and related Google Ads conversion cookies) are set only after you allow advertising — through the cookie consent banner, the cookie preferences dialog, or the Analytics and Advertising permissions in Privacy settings. Until then no Google tag loads and no analytics or advertising cookies are set.

Advertising cookies are used only to measure whether a Friendify ad campaign brought you to the site (conversion measurement) and to operate Google Ads features you have consented to. Google Consent Mode signals tell Google which categories you allowed, so each product stays limited to your choice. Withdrawing a choice removes that category's Google cookies from this browser and stops further measurement.

Social pixels, device fingerprinting, and link decoration are not currently used by Friendify. If Friendify introduces further non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar tracking, we will provide clear and comprehensive information and obtain consent before setting them unless a current PECR exception applies.

Your Choices

You can allow, decline, or withdraw the optional analytics and advertising cookies at any time using the controls below, the cookie consent banner, the "Cookie settings" link in the footer and app sidebar on every page, or the Analytics and Advertising permissions in Privacy settings when signed in. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and withdrawal is available through the same controls.
